Teradici Delivers PC-over-IP Technology Processor allows secure PC experience from datacenter to desktop. | Published October 26, 2007 Teradici's PC-over-IP technology enables all the benefits of centralization, but with PC fidelity. Users access and work with their PC or workstation as if it were under their desk, with access to full graphics and multimedia, when in reality the datacenter securely sits miles away. Teradici's technology is centered on algorithm innovations in image and I/O bridging, and is delivered by an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) chipset. The TERA Host and Portal chipset, the engine of PC-over-IP technology, is integrated both in the datacenter and at the user's desk. In the datacenter, PC or workstation blades, rack mount or tower PCs integrate the TERA Host Processor. At the user's desk, the TERA Portal Processor enables a simple, stateless device. Teradici Corporation, a fabless (a company that does not manufacture its own silicon wafers and can focus on the design and development of semiconductor chips) semiconductor company developing technology for next-generation computer form factors, is focused on enabling a new approach for how personal computers are deployed and managed through algorithms and high-performance silicon processing. More information on PC-over-IP is available from Teradici. Sources: Press materials received from the company and additional information gleaned from the company's website.
