Eye-Catching Charging Pavilion for Volvo Hybrid

I’ve never heard anybody compliment anyone on how gorgeous their solar panels are, but that could change thanks to the Pure Tension Pavilion, a portable solar pavilion designed by Synthesis Design + Architecture (SDA) that can charge the battery in the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid diesel vehicle. New Volvo Road Train Video Arrives

Volvo has posted some fresh video of its autonomous vehicle “road train” technology.

Volvo to Introduce Pedestrian Airbags

If you’re going to be hit by a car, try to make it a Volvo. The 2013 Volvo V40, which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, will be equipped with a large airbag triggered by front bumper sensors. When the vehicle collides with a person, the section of the hood closest to the windshield pops up, and the airbag is released. The airbag covers the area under the raised hood, as well as one-third of the windshield and the lower part of the A-pillar. The V40 also features an automatic braking system, triggered by radar and cameras, that can stop the vehicle if the driver fails to brake when someone steps out in front of the vehicle.
