Tektronix announced a number of new products at the recent IBC 2013 event. The new ECO8000 and ECO8020 changeover units are designed to match perfectly with two SPG8000 Master Sync and Master Clock Reference Generators to provide extra redundancy for the sync generator system, which demands ultra-high reliability for timing and synchronization system in broadcast facilities.
The new MTS4EAV7 HEVC Elementary Stream Analyzer is an upgrade to the company’s MTS4EA MPEG-2 and AVC/H.264 Video and Audio Analyzer. The upgrade adds support for the new High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC)/H.265 standard. MTS4EAV7’s deep dive Elementary Stream analysis capabilities, coupled with HEVC support, enable designers and manufacturers of hardware and software video encoders, decoders, and mobile video devices to develop video products for HD mobile video, over-the-top (OTT) video and Ultra HD (4K) broadcast applications that adopt the new HEVC technology.
The QCloud cloud-based Quality Control (QC) Software Subscription platform is optimized for deployment on Amazon Web Services (AWS). It is designed for file-based workflows running on a cloud infrastructure. It processes file-based content stored on the Amazon S3 storage platform, which the company says is used by many video service providers (VSPs) as well as content creators and broadcasters globally.
