Supermicro Demonstrates 2U Twin GPU, Six-Core AMD Opteron Server, and Blade Solutions

Super Micro Computer, Inc. is demonstrating the company’s server technology at Supercomputing 2009.

The company’s new 2U Twin servers equipped with two NVIDIA Tesla C1060 GPUs increases the maximum storage capacity per 1U server node 50 percent by supporting six hot-swap 3.5-in. hard disk drives. Each 2U Twin system features two hot-plug dual-processor (DP) server nodes and redundant power for high availability. Each computing node features onboard QDR InfiniBand for 40 Gb/s connectivity.

Super Micro Computer is also demonstrating its latest high-performance computing (HPC) server and blade solutions. These solutions, based on the new AMD SR56xx/SP5100 chipset and optimized for Six-Core AMD Opteron processors, boost performance with PCI Express 2.0 to double I/O throughput and support 40Gb/s QDR InfiniBand for high-bandwidth connectivity.

The company’s range of A+ building block solutions includes both DP and MP servers and workstations in 1U, 2U, 4U, tower, and blade form factors.
