GRID VCA combines NVIDIA’s GRID GPUs and software to allow workgroups on a LAN to remotely run GPU-accelerated Windows applications on any Mac, Linux or Windows computer.
According to the company, the certification will allow businesses to standardize the use of SolidWorks 2014 across users, regardless of the hardware they access it on. Companies deploying GRID VCA can maintain a single appliance instead of multiple workstations and reduce their spending on CAD workstation support, including deployment, service packs and upgrades, according to NVIDIA. Simultaneously, casual users who previously might not have had a sufficiently powerful system can now gain full access to SolidWorks 2014.
NVIDIA GRID VCA is a 4U appliance. Its 16 NVIDIA GPUs and NVIDIA GRID VGX software provide NVIDIA Quadro-class graphics performance for up to 16 concurrent users, with low latency, high resolution and interactivity, the company says.
