NextComputing, a manufacturer of portable and small footprint workstations and servers, released the Radius PRM. The company’s new system provides massive storage potential and enterprise-level computing performance on a rackmount server with a transportable chassis, a press release states.
The Radius PRM has a built-in flip-up 1920×1080 LCD or touch screen, up to 24 processor cores, a possibility for 24 hot-swappable 2.5 inch hard drives (including STATA, SAS or enterprise-class solid state drives) and up to seven PCT Express 3.0 slots for graphics cards.
There is also the option to add a rack-mount kit. The Radius RPM is suited for packet capture, data streaming and a range of processing, algorithmic and virtual applications.
Bob Labadini, CTO of NextComputing, relates that the “Radius PRM is now our highest-performance portable, optimized for data streaming and recording applications that also require a high level of processing and memory. The PRM includes the very latest Ivy Bridge-EP architecture from Intel, high-speed PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots, adjustable LED display, and the latest enterprise class storage including high-endurance Solid State Drives with SED/FIPS 140-2 encryption options.”
