The HPC Advisory Council, an organization for high-performance computing research, outreach, and education, has a new compute cluster based on the AMD Opteron 6000 Series platform and Mellanox ConnectX-2 40Gb/s InfiniBand adapters and IS5000 switches available through the council’s High-Performance Center.
The new system enriches the HPC Advisory Council High-Performance Center with the latest CPUs from AMD and CORE-DirectMPI collectives offload capability from Mellanox Technologies. The new system, located in Sunnyvale, CA, provides local and remote access for users.
“The HPC Advisory Council High-Performance Center offers a unique environment for developing, testing, benchmarking, and optimizing solutions based on clustering technology,” says Gilad Shainer, HPC Advisory Council chairman. “This new contribution from AMD and Mellanox Technologies helps us to keep the center updated with recently introduced technologies and enables our members to explore solutions that deliver the next phase of high-performance computing.”
