DfR Solutions, a provider of quality, reliability, and durability (QRD) solutions for the electronics industry, announced a strategic alliance with Dassault Systems. Sherlock Automated Design Analysis software will be integrated with Dassault's Abaqus Finite Element Analysis (FEA) realistic simulation application (SIMULIA).
Sherlock is an automated design analysis software for analyzing, grading, and certifying the expected reliability of products at the circuit card assembly level. The integration between Abaqus simulation results and Sherlock reliability predictions for electronic designs will give customers the ability to directly post-process Abaqus output databases (.odb).
"Bringing together the specific technical strengths of the two design tools will bring enormous value to electronics manufacturers across industry," stated DfR Solutions CEO Craig Hillman. "This combined capability will greatly increase the number of high-technology companies performing mechanical analysis of their product and result in the substantial reduction in time required to develop design rules from approximately four weeks to four hours."
