Ricoh Americas announced the first full-color digital imaging system in its wide-format multifunction product (MFP) portfolio. With copying, scanning and printing capabilities, the Ricoh MP CW2200SP streamlines low-volume, wide format workflows, the company says. The device combines color and black and white output into one footprint. By combining support from large, 500-foot plain paper rolls and printing onto 20-lb. bond paper, workflows are improved and costs per print are lower than traditional color inkjet products. With optional two-roll printing, the system can change rolls automatically. "Architects, engineers and construction contractors need their technical drawings and plans to be presented in print exactly how they were designed," said Tim Vellek, vice president, Production Printing Business Group, Ricoh Americas. "The Ricoh MP CW2200SP is an outstanding wide format MFP for firms in need of high-quality color output, and it is ideal for those who also place an emphasis on saving space and reducing printing costs." Users can scan full-color originals and distribute them via Scan-to-Email/Folder/FTP/HDD or use the embedded SDK architecture to integrate GlobalScan NX for optimal electronic file management. Documents can be immediately accessed in the field via any Web browser with Scan-to-URL. Built-in USB and SD card slots offer mobile workers the convenience to save documents and generate prints directly at the device for on-the-go productivity. The device uses GELJET ink technology. First introduced on Ricoh's GELJET line of printers, this fast-drying, waterproof gel ink doesn't soak the page.
