Pickering Interfaces Expands its PXI Solid State MUX Solutions

The 40-683 supports multiple MUX configurations.

Pickering Interfaces is expanding its range of solid-state PXI versatile multiplexers with the introduction of the 40-683.

The 40-683 is a single-slot 3U PXI module providing a versatile multiplexer solution capable of supporting multiple MUX configurations that include single pole, two pole and multiple bank capabilities from a single module, the company says. Typical selectable configurations vary from a single bank 128:1 MUX to 8 banks of 8:1-2 pole MUX's, with all the MUX possibilities from a single module.

It uses solid state relays rated to 100V with 125mA hot switch capability. According to the company, this makes the module ideal for applications requiring frequent hot switching of high voltages that might result in limited operating life for mechanical relays.

The module is programmatically, functionally, and pin layout equivalent to 40-612 (an electro-mechanical relay design) and the 40-682 (solid state 40V 250mA version), allowing users to choose the most appropriate solution for their application without cabling or software changes.
