Vero Licenses Siemens' D-Cubed 3D DCM

Product will be integrated into VISI modeling solution.

| Published November 28, 2012

Vero UK has licensed Siemens' D-Cubed software for integration into its VISI product line. According to the company, Vero selected the D-Cubed 3D Dimensional Constraint Manager (3D DCM) from Siemens PLM Software to provide users with a geometric constraint solving capability.

"Vero Software is a long-standing adopter of Siemens' PLM components, including D-Cubed and Parasolid," said Richard Smith, CEO, Vero Software. "We recognize the value in licensing proven components that are under constant development and optimization by a trusted supplier. Integrating PLM components frees up our own resources to focus on what we do best. The result is a product suite which delivers exceptional quality and functionality to help customers increase productivity and reduce costs."

Vero Software integrated the 3D DCM into VISI Modeling as part of its recent VISI v20 release. D-Cubed component software will enable VISI Modeling users to apply mating constraints (Concentric, Parallel, Coincident, Distance, etc.) to geometric bodies and simulate the real movement of the mould or progressive die tool kinematics. This, in turn, enables them to check for collisions and validate a design proposal.
