Supermicro Computer has upgraded its line of A+ servers with the AMD Opteron 6300 Series processors. The new A+ server and tower platforms deliver up to 24% higher performance over prior generation solutions and maximize processor density and core counts to support more VMs for public and private cloud deployments, the company says. Performance per watt is up to 40% higher with intelligent thermal/power monitoring and management, enabling datacenters running large-scale software systems to maximize performance while lowering overall costs.
Supermicro's lineup of A+ servers supporting the Opteron 6300 series processors include 1U DP solutions supporting the company's UIO architecture for flexible I/O expansion options, multiple expansion card options including SAS/SATA RAID5, 10Gb Ethernet and Infiniband. High density form-factors in 1U MP and 2U MP support quad processors with up to 64 cores and 1TB of DDR3 memory and high-speed InfiniBand QDR interconnects for high-performance database and SQL server applications. The 4-node, 2UTwin supports dual 16-core AMD Opteron processors and 1866 DDR3 memory per node with onboard Mellanox InfiniBand and 1620W redundant Platinum Level (94%+) high-efficiency power supplies. A 4U/Tower solution in DP and in MP offers maximum storage capacities with support for up to 8x hot-swap SAS/SATA HDD bays.
