Aerojet vice president of engineering Marvin Young received Purdue University's Outstanding Mechanical Engineer (OME) Award earlier this month.
The OME award was established by Purdue in 1991 to honor alumni who have demonstrated exemplary accomplishments and leadership related to the mechanical engineering industry.
"The entire Aerojet family congratulates Marvin for this special recognition," said Aerojet president Warren Boley. "Marvin demonstrates his commitment to technical excellence every day and I am personally proud to have him as a member of my team."
Young has served with Aerojet for more than 26 years. In his current role, he oversees more than 700 mechanical, electrical, systems and software engineers for the company. His leadership over Aerojet's engineering activities drives the development and fielding of rocket propulsion systems for defense and aerospace applications.
