ZW3D 2012 SP2 Released

Boasts a more efficient and intelligent mold design module.

| Published October 31, 2012

ZWSOFT announced the release of Service Pack 2 for ZW3D 2012. According to the company, the major improvement in this pack is the more efficient and intelligent mold design module. It provides features including project management, multi-product design, and multi-cavity design as well as faster patching, which helps designers manage mold projects and improve design efficiency.

In ZW3D 2012 SP2, in the project file with Assembly Mode, when users click the command Mold Project Tools & Prating Design Tools on any part, the system will automatically activate the corresponding file. The intelligent association between assembly parts of the Extended Assembly Reference in ZW3D 2012 SP2 will accomplish modifications quickly and accurately. It provides three types of references: Non-associative reference, associative reference without timestamp, and associative reference with timestamp.

There are also new features in the service pack that make it easy to design several different products or multiple cavities for a product in one mold project. For complex molds with inner holes, Parting Shape (the automatic method) and Inner Edge (the manual method) just takes a few seconds to finish the patching, the company says.
