Creaform Releases Version 2.0 of Pipecheck Software for NDT Applications

Includes new mechanical damage assessment module.

| Published October 31, 2012

Creaform released version 2.0 of its Pipecheck pipeline integrity assessment software solution.

"This new release will definitely position Pipecheck as an innovative, intuitive and highly-effective solution for pipeline integrity assessment," said Pierre-Hugues Allard, business development manager for NDT. "Over the past year and since the introduction of Pipecheck's Pipeline External Corrosion Assessment software module, the industry has been realizing the huge potential of this application over traditional NDT methods. We did not stop there, however, and spent the year improving the Pipeline External Corrosion module based on actual users' feedback and requests, in addition to developing the Pipeline Mechanical Damage module."

The new Pipeline Mechanical Damage Assessment Software module has been specifically developed for pipeline mechanical damage analysis. It features numerous key functionalities that increase dent understanding and facilitate decision making, the company says. It provides radius measurement; maximum depth measurement using straight edge technique in both directions; automatic creation of 2D cross-sections in both directions at maximum depth; 3D and 2D color mapping of the damaged area; and a visualization tool to increase dent shape understanding.

The new rugged Field Pack includes a wireless tablet for real-time visualization of the scanned surfaces. The kit has three compatible power sources to choose from: external battery with charger, 110/220V direct input or car battery.
