KISTERS has announced release 11.3 of its 3DViewStation. Enhancements include a new filtering tool, which can be used to reduce the objects being displayed through selection by color, by name or by CAD-attribute. Together with neighborhood search plus standard selection methods via model tree or graphics pane, the filtering tool now allows identification of objects of interest through many ways. New features also include a BOM function, which generates the Bill-Of-Material of a CAD-model loaded, 3D-annotations, 3D-markups, dimensioning and CAD-attribute reading during import. Views being created contain a preview-image, can be sorted via drag and drop and can be played in an automated way, similar to a slideshow. The system now supports 3D-mice of 3DConnexion. All enhancements to the 3DViewStation are available in the desktop version as well as in the ActiveX integration component, which is intended to be used together with a PLM - or other management system.
