GD&T Advisor Software for PTC Pro/Engineer and Creo Available

Offers enhanced functionality, better messaging, and increased flexibility.

Sigmetrix, a PTC PartnerAdvantage Gold Partner, announced the latest release of its GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) Advisor software solution for Pro/ENGINEER and Creo. GD&T Advisor is an interactive tool that provides expert guidance on the correct application of GD&T. It guides designers through a standards-based application of GD&T from within the CAD environment, increasing GD&T standards conformity and accuracy while reducing the time to apply GD&T by 75%, the company says.

"The global response to GD&T Advisor has been extraordinary across all major vertical markets," said Sigmetrix CEO Tim Bogard, "Commercial companies around the world have already installed GD&T Advisor and we are especially pleased to have a major government agency such as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a GD&T Advisor customer."

GD&T Advisor v1.1.0 offers enhanced functionality, better messaging, and increased flexibility in the correct application of model-centric GD&T annotations, including downstream reusable metadata. It also includes improvements in speed, ease of use, and accuracy in the creation of GD&T, providing richer feedback, and context-sensitive reference materials, as well as improved support of dimensional engineering processes. For example, the user can now temporarily delay the specification of the tolerance value and material condition until the GD&T specification is nearly complete and a tolerance analysis can be performed.
