Knovel, a Web-based application integrating technical information with analytical and search tools, has announced that content from ASM International, The Materials Information Society, including the ASM Handbook series and atlases of fatigue curves and stress-strain curves, is now available on Knovel. In May 2010, the organizations announced a partnership to combine ASM’s materials content with Knovel’s optimized search and data analysis features and technical references from more than 70 societies and publishers. ASM on Knovel helps engineers make better choices when selecting and using materials in their products, projects and processes.

“We made quite a bit of progress since the launch of our partnership, and I can already see the value Knovel adds to our content,” says Stan Theobald, managing director of ASM International. “For example, engineers can use interactive graphs to predict material behavior under different conditions — such as, how much stress a material will bear under a range of temperatures over time. This is helpful for material selection and aids in productivity.”
