Konica Minolta Sensing Americas Announces New 3D Scanning and Engineering Services Division

Will address needs in reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, 3D scanning and finite element analysis.

| Published November 16, 2009

Konica Minolta Sensing Americas, Inc. (KMSA) has announced the addition of its new 3D scanning and engineering services division to its existing 3D non-contact scanner business unit.

"This is a very exciting time for us as we launch this new 3D services business," said Jim Clark, KMSA 3D Business Unit Manager. "We see huge potential in offering this type of service to our customers. Many were not able to afford the purchase of hardware this past year due to economic conditions. We were continually asked if we could simply scan parts on a project by project basis."

KMSA has invested and deployed this new division to address the needs of those looking for 3D service solutions in the areas of reverse engineering, rapid prototyping, 3D scanning, design and engineering as well as finite element analysis.

KMSA will be primarily using its own VIVID and RANGE 3D equipment. The company will be offering up to 50 percent off all new customers' first scanning services job until Jan. 31, 2010.
