Saelig Company, Inc. has announced the debut of CANminiBOX, a compact embedded controller that is suited to embedded CANbus control applications. The product's 128MB SD-RAM capacity is sufficient to control the pre-installed Linux OS, while a 512MB Compact Flash card storage can be upgraded. CANminiBOX also offers low power consumption (less than 6W), ensuring the reliability of passive cooling. DIN-rail mounted units can be placed in tight locations, due to its 3-x-2-x-4.7-in. dimensions and weight of less than 1 lb. The unit's Linux operating system comes pre-installed as standard, while other choices such as QNX or VxWorks can be integrated to suit customer needs. Each CANminiBOX system is tested and customizable with additional I/O or CANbus ports.
