Océ Unveils New Wide-Format Color Scanners Series

Océ (Trumbull, CT) has announced the new Océ CS4300 scanner series, a new series of wide-format scanner series with an optional interpolated resolution of up to 9600 dpi, a resolution said to make the series well suited for the high-resolution scans required by CAD, GIS, and other professional users.

The Océ CS4300 series scans in full color, 8-bit color, gray scale, or monochrome, and can accommodate document widths from 36 in., 42 in., and 54 in., depending upon model. Key features of the series include 600 x 600 dpi optical resolution and the ability to scan rigid originals up to 0.6 in. (15 mm) thick, which, according to Océ, enables the scanners to handle a broad range of applications such 2D and 3D CAD drawings, renderings, posters, and photos. Model-dependent full-color scanning speeds range from 3 to 7.4 feet per minute (fpm). The monochrome scanning speed is 59 fpm. Accuracy is 0.1% ± 1 pixel. As an option, advanced CCD technology can deliver interpolated resolution of up to 9600 dpi.

Energy-efficiency features include an automatic mode as well as a standard timer clock that enables you to set power-up and power-down modes according to your operation schedules. The scanners comply with the European Union-RoHS directive for lead content and are designed and manufactured in accordance with the ISO 14001 environmental management standard.

All CS4300 series scanners come with Océ's Copy Easy software, which simplifies scanning operations with such capabilities as standard image enhancement for five original types, automatic file name increment and scan-to-view, scan-to-file, scan-to-copy, archiving, and accounting as standard features. The software can also upgrade your existing Océ printer to a full hybrid system. Additionally, optional Océ Color Copy software allows copying to multiple Océ wide-format systems or third-party printers, creating a single workflow for all wide-format hard copies.

The CS4300 scanners support Windows XP, Server 2003, and Windows Vista (32 bits) operating systems, and double speed USB2 with xDTR, STI (Still Image Interface), WIA (Windows Image Acquisition), and TWAIN interfaces. Standard accessories include a scanner stand and receiving basket, USB2 and power cables, and a maintenance kit CD with software demonstrations, maintenance details, quick reference guide, and documentation.

The Océ CS4300 scanner series with Océ Color Copy software are available now. Prices range from $11,600 for the 36-in. Océ CS4336 scanner is to $28,600 for the 54-in. Océ CS4354S high-speed scanner. For complete details, visit Océ.
