Scribe-iT DCC from GHOST 3D Offers Solutions

Software for Autodesk Maya 2009 for 3D digitizing and reverse modeling integrates 3D CMMS with 3D applications.

| Published November 6, 2008

GHOST 3D, LLC (San Francisco, CA) has released Scribe-iT DCC for Autodesk Maya 2009, a 3D digitizing, reverse modeling, CMM/Laser scan editing, manipulation, and reverse engineering software that integrates 3D CMMs with 3D applications.

The solutions are comprised of the original device integration and modeling solutions for portable CMM-type digitizers such as FaroArm and MicroScribe and mainstream 3D software applications for design, modeling, inspection, animation, visualization, and reverse engineering. For rapid production and analysis of 3D CAD datasets and Polygon/Sub-D models from physical sources, including precise capture and editing of NURBS, Spline, Polygon, data points, and other geometries; accurate measuring of datums; Scribe-iT DCC is very applicable.

Scribe-iT’s proprietary Polygon/Sub-D digitizing and modeling system is specifically designed for portable CMM input. Maya 2009 Unlimited and Complete versions, Maya 2008, previous Maya versions, and other 3D software applications are fully supported in Scribe-iT.

Scribe-iT DCC for Maya provides referencing and alignment tools, geometry and measurement capture, editing and manipulation tools, and GHOST 3D's Polygon modeling system.

One example of some full-scale automobiles recreated as 3D geometry that use Scribe-iT DCC, Maya, and a supported CMM (available from GHOST 3D) is available at Volkswagen.
