Ansoft Corporation (Pittsburgh, PA) released HFSS v11.1 software for 3D full-wave electromagnetic field simulation, which is available for Windows, Linux and Solaris users.

HFSS v11.1 is available for Microsoft Windows XP Professional, XP Professional x64 Edition, Server 2003, Server 2003 x64 Edition, Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 3 and 4 (32- and 64-bit OS), SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (32- and 64-bit OS) and Solaris versions 8-10 (64-bit OS). Enhancements include meshing and model resolution and validation features; Nastran (.nas) geometry import; Parasolid and Unigraphic geometry import (Windows only); and enhanced postprocessing features.

HFSS is described as the industry-standard software for S-parameter and Full-Wave SPICE extraction and for the electromagnetic simulation of high-frequency and high-speed components. HFSS is widely used for the design of on-chip embedded passives, PCB interconnects, antennas, RF/microwave components and high-frequency IC packages.
