Japanese provider adds rapid manufacturing system to meet customer demand for automotive parts.

 3D Systems Sinterstation Pro SLS System. | 3D Systems Corporation (Rock Hill, SC: ), a provider of 3D modeling, rapid prototyping and manufacturing solutions, announced that Nihon Weed of Tokyo, Japan, purchased a Sinterstation Pro 230 SLS (selective laser sintering) system to meet increasing customer demand for functional, durable automotive parts. Nihon Weed previously purchased a 3D Systems’ SLA 7000 system. The Sinterstation Pro 230 SLS System transforms computer-aided design (CAD) data into ready-to-use, three-dimensional plastic parts. With this system, Nihon Weed can deliver injection-molded quality, end-use parts built from the toughest available plastics.
